Terra-Gen, jointly owned by Masdar and I-neo Infrastructure Partners, announced that its Lockhart Solar PV IV project has entered commercial operation. Located in San Bernardino County, California, the project has an installed capacity of 80 megawatts and will supply power to approximately 40,000 homes and businesses annually through long-term power purchase agreements with California electricity consumers.

The construction of the Lockhart IV project created over 220 jobs at its peak and completed more than 122,000 man-hours of work without any shutdown incidents. Cupertino Electric served as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the project.

The Lockhart IV project represents the final phase of the Lockhart solar and energy storage facility. With all four phases now operational, the facility boasts a total capacity of 365 megawatts of solar power generation and 173.7 megawatts of battery storage, sufficient to meet the annual demand of over 350,000 households and businesses.

Located on approximately 4,000 acres of private land, the complete Lockhart solar and energy storage operations facility includes nearly one million solar modules and 248 battery cabinets. The project utilizes existing power generation lines connected to the Kramer Junction substation of Southern California Edison.
